We NEED your help!

For what?
Lord willing, on December 16, 2023 at 4:00 pm we will have a special, uplifting, community wide Christmas gathering at the Barre Auditorium jointly sponsored by a good number of CV area churches (thru Connecting Hope). We are calling it, “The Wonder of Christmas”! The Wonder of Christmas is Jesus coming to this earth. It starts with the Nativity experience. This is not a worship service nor a play to watch but a unique walk through the Nativity with heavy participation by all present. After this, we will have a time of community building, then a free dinner for all in the basement of the Aud. It will be an uplifting, joyful, full of hope, fun time for young and old. All of this we hope to offer for free, the Lord willing. (This idea came spontaneously out of a joint CV pastors’ prayer meeting Nov 2022

Nativity Experience:

  • Singers for the Flash mob/underground choir (common Christmas carols, Halleluiah Chorus and Mary Did You Know) – let us know if you are a soprano, alto, tenor, bass, etc.
  • Piano accompanist & page turner (must be able to do the Halleluiah Chorus)
  • Characters for live nativity (no speaking parts) – Mary, Joseph, Angels, Shepherds, etc.
  • Costume making and set design/construction people
  • Voice people who are unseen (announcer, narrator, etc.)

Inviting People

  • design print program, ads, handouts and media publicity
  • fund raising and funds (send any financial gifts made out to ‘Connecting Hope’ to Connecting Hope PO Box 1028  Barre, VT 05641 with a note that it is for “Wonder of Christmas”
  • Local church contacts/encouragers
  • People to pray (starting now; also with individuals on that day)

Help On the Day 

  • Set-up and clean-up
  • Greeters, ushers, parking and handicap helpers
  • Serving, hosting, busing and cleaning up the meal
